Gorgeous detailed embellishments, vivid palettes of oxblood and gold, and a glamorous trip back to the 1920s – all this on day 5 and 6 at the ongoing New York Fashion Week! We bring you all the trends straight off the catwalk.
Vivid Oxblood: Featuring prominently on stunning cocktail gowns, leather jackets and comfy separates, we fell in love with this rich, warm colour all over again.
Gold Rush: We weren’t surprised when the colour of decadence made an appearance on the runway yet again. Hues ranged from a soft harvest gold to a deep honey. We can’t wait to see how that gorgeous gown from Donna Karan look on the red carpet!
Go Gatsby: We relived the glory of the 20s once more as models sashayed down the runways in modern flapper dresses with fringed accents. Our favourite look has got to be from master couturier Naeem Khan, although we must admit we’re lusting over that super cute mini from Diesel Black Gold too!
A Magpie’s Dream: Intricate embellishments and shiny sequins featured heavily in shows from Alice+Olivia, Pamela Roland and Jenny Packham. How incredible is that sequinned jumpsuit from Milly?!
She’s The Boss: Power dressing will take on a whole new avatar next season. We love the clean-cut, crisp pant suits that we saw at Oscar de la Renta, Prabal Gurung and Theory. Exquisitely tailored and super chic, these suits mean business!
Striking A Balance: Strong, structured jackets were teamed with light sheers at Vera Wang, Novis and Wes Gordon. We love the juxtaposition of sharply tailored jackets with sheer fabrics. A nice way to add edge to an otherwise overtly feminine look.
