Our favourite time of year is here again! Lakmé Fashion Week Summer Resort 2014 is back with a stellar line-up of talented designers. Here at Stylista Insider, we were eager with anticipation for Day 1 and looking forward to all the new talent as well. Here’s a recap of the shows we loved on Day 1:

SNEHA ARORA

We loved the exquisite tailoring and comfy chic silhouettes at Sneha Arora’s show. Scattered ink blotches and coffee stain prints were prevalent across fitted jackets, pleated dresses and shirts. We also loved the monotone layering in hues of indigo.

HUEMN

Full of sporty luxe pieces, the show at Huemn had everything from panelled tracksuits to graphic print pencil skirts and sweatshirts, all paired with super funky sneakers. Love!

NISHKA LULLA

In a beautiful colour palette ranging from pristine whites to sky blue and dull rose gold, Nishka Lulla presented a collection that reflected her aesthetic perfectly. Easy, flowing  skirts and trousers were paired with crop tops and sheer organza tunics. We also saw pieces that had just a hint of sparkle, jumpsuits with embroidery and pieces in shimmery gold.

NIKHIL THAMPI

Full of bronze rose appliqué, zipper detailing and fierce form-fitting silhouettes, the show at Nikhil Thampi definitely had some red carpet favourites.

VALLIYAN BY NITYA ARORA

Titled Summer Of Love, Nitya Arora’s collection of high octane jewellery paid tribute to the dreamy romantic in all of us. It was dominated by floral motifs like pressed flower petals, roses and full blooming buds in precious and semi precious stones, all inlaid in gold. We especially loved the floral brooches.

IKAI BY RAGINI AHUJA

Ragini Ahuja opened the Jabong Stage yesterday with an amazing collection. Leather panelling, striped tie ‘n dye and a colour palette in warm hues of indigo and mauve, we loved this promising collection.
