The highlight of Day 2 at LFW was the glittering Gaurav Gupta and Mawi show. Titled Memphire, the show had a futuristic backdrop and high octane energy and was oh-so-glamorous! The UK-based Manipuri designer Mawi Keivom debuted her collection in India after 12 long years, and what a collection it was. Internationally renowned for her cutting edge designs, her collaboration with the master of drapes Gaurav Gupta was a match made in fashion heaven!
Pretty pastels and boxy shapes made for ILK’s new collection. We loved the floral motifs on organza overlays and a smatter of shine on crisp shirts.
Payal Singhal’s collection was all about restrained shapes with digital prints and tessellated embellishment.
British label Dorothy Perkins made its debut in India via Jabong.com, and the collection had a little bit of everything. From sexy swimwear and pretty day dresses to sequinned evening numbers, the collection was high street, wearable and fun.
Sailex shone once again with his latest collection. The talented designer’s show started off with crisp white dresses with signature low-cut backs, black dresses with a hint of shine, and progressed into inspired shibori dresses in wispy greys and punchy tangerine. We loved the beautifully cut tops and flowy evening dresses.
