Pamper Your Skin With 5 DIY Face Masks


With urban pollution on the rise and the summer sun relentlessly glaring down, your skin goes through all sorts of damage on a daily basis. Here at Stylista HQ, we’re big fans of pampering our skin with DIY face masks using ingredients that are readily available in the kitchen. Not only are these formulas easy to make, they’re all natural too! Trust Mother Nature to always be on hand to save us from our beauty woes. Be warned though: these masks smell so good, you might just be tempted to have a taste!

This mask with honey and milk is an age-old recipe for rejuvenating skin. Add some turmeric, with its magical skin healing properties, and you’re on your way to seriously glowing skin!

What you’ll need:
* 1 tsp honey
* 1 tbsp gram flour
* A pinch of turmeric
* 2 tbsp milk

Combine all the ingredients and load up on your skin. Keep on for half an hour and wash off with lukewarm water.


Olive oil is a great ingredient for moisturising skin. A smooth mixture of olive oil and honey makes for a great nourishing mask. Mix the two ingredients in equal parts, and a keep leftovers in a small mason jar in your shower. Perfect for a quick pick-me-up when your skin’s feeling dull or dry.

What you’ll need:
* 2 tbsp olive oil
* 2 tbsp honey
* 1 tbsp Fuller’s earth or multani mitti to bind the mixture

Combine the ingredients and wear for 20 minutes for a punch of moisture.


This slightly complex recipe smells like perfume and looks pretty to boot! Keep some dried rose and lavender petals uncrushed for a wholesome looking mixture that’s perfect to gift your girlfriends.

What you’ll need:
* 2 cups Fuller’s earth or multani mitti
* 1 cup ground oats
* 1/4 cup ground almonds
* 1/8 cup dried lavender, ground
* 1/3 cup dried rose petals, ground

Make this mixture to store or gift. Mix one tbsp of each ingredient at a time with rose water and a few drops of lavender essence oil. Wear till the paste dries off and wash with lukewarm water.


Tropical fruits are packed with antioxidants that make for a great mask, and raw coconut oil is known to be a super beauty ingredient. This face pack smells like a smoothie and clears tans and blemishes.

What you’ll need:
* 1/2 fresh papaya, peeled and de-seeded
* 1 cup fresh pineapple
* A squeeze of lemon
* 1 tsp gram powder
* 1 tablespoon cold pressed virgin coconut oil

Wash your face gently with warm water and pat dry. Apply the mask evenly and relax for 15 minutes. Rinse again with warm water and gently dry your face with a soft towel. This quick treatment will nourish your skin with healthy enzymes and Vitamin C, leaving it soft and smooth. It also fights free-radical damage and can reduce age spots and fine lines.


Cocoa’s natural antioxidants help keep skin looking young, while heavy cream and honey add a healthy dose of nourishment. The other plus point? It smells divine!

What you’ll need:
* 1/3 cup natural cocoa powder (no sugar added)
* 2 tbsp heavy cream
* 3 tsp honey

Whip everything together in a large bowl till the mixture is light and airy. Apply and keep on for 45 minutes. Resist the urge to lick some off your fingers!
