If attending music festivals is as routine to you as your Monday morning coffee, then we’re sure you’ve already planned an array of outfits for the Pune edition of NH7 Weekender this Friday. However, if you’re stuck about how to mix things up for the weekend ahead, we have you sorted. The queen of bohemian style Monica Dogra herself is on hand to give you some quick styling tips.
If you haven’t already checked it out, her MonicaDograxSylista collection is chock full of trendy pieces you can mix and match to create the perfect, festival-ready ensembles. So without further ado, here’s what the musician/actress/designer has to say about it:
1. The festival season is in full swing now, with NH7 Weekender Pune right around the corner. Where all will we see you playing?
I’m performing at all the Weekender editions, except Bangalore. I love this festival because it’s a great time to get together with all my musician friends and jam together, party and generally have fun!
2. Any other festivals you’re going to be part of this year?
Apart from NH7, I will be performing at Magnetic Fields Festival in Rajasthan this December, as well as Ray Ban Never Hides, which is a mentorship tour with new talent in support of a new Signature initiative.
3. Any tips for girls on how to dress for music festivals?
Be your craziest self…your most heightened expression. Music festivals create a microcosm of free love and madness, so indulge in that and let your freak flag fly high!
4. How can they incorporate the MonicaDograxStylista collection into their festival wardrobe?
Every single piece from my collection is meant for the mad ones, who are more often than not festival goers! There are lots of pieces that you can mix and match together, layer over or under, and basically have fun with. There are no rules. Just wear what you want, however you want!
From the floaty silhouette to the lace panels, we love everything about Dani’s Peach Peasant Dress! We especially love the crochet back and the cut-out shoulders, which make it the perfect chillout dress. Style it with strappy gladiator sandals, a fringed bag and a floral headband for a chic Boho vibe. Finish the look off with sunglasses and look peachy on the grounds this weekend!
Going by Monica Dogra’s latest Instagram post, which said, “Whoever is wearing this #MonicaDograXStylista crop top at #BacardiNH7weekender in #Pune gets a drink on me if I spot you!”, the Mando’s B-girl Crop Top is one of Monica’s favourite pieces from her collection. Pair the awesome crop top with her Babani Acid Wash Shorts and add to it funky sneakers, a backpack and cool sunnies for a chilled out look.
With its all over floral print in bright orange and blue, the Singing Bowl Jaipuri Dress is both chic and bohemian. We suggest you accessorise it with chunky boots and a tan hobo bag. Make a statement by completing the look with a funky hat and a pair of retro sunnies.
